Umatilla grabs pair of wins

The Umatilla Vikings girls' and boys' tennis team picked up a pair of wins against Ione on Thursday despite losing both No. 1 singles matches.

Lead by the boys doubles teams of Adolfo Campos, Mario Aparicio, Milton Watson, Clayton Forshee, Vinny Stefani and Matt Warr along with Wins from Willie Campos, Pedro Ortiz, and Cole Reiner; the boys team did well against Ione wining 6-1.

On the ladies side despite losing the first two singles matches and No Won doubles matches to a Stron ione Ladies contingent, the match went to UHS with stong performances from Shelby Hillebrand, Evans & Seufert, as well as wins from Anna Linn, Chrissy Tooley, Mariah Holden, Jennifer Trautmann, Susan Routson, Anali Rubio, Norma Chavez, Clariza Valencia, Muranda Cranston.
