Stanfield - Tennis players from area schools traveled to Stanfield for the Stanfield Invitational on Saturday, April 23, 2011. Joy Brammer of Stanfield won the women's singles title. Krista Persho and Chole Van Gilder of Sherman County won the women's doubles.

Twenty-four ladies began the day in the women's singles bracket. Most of the seeded players players made it into the second round. Only one player, Nuvia Ramirez of Riverside played her way into the second round where she was defeated by Melanie Belshe. Other matches in the second round were Marnie Fitzsimmons of Condon/Wheeler defeated Naomi Castanon of Umatilla, Joy Brammer of Stanfield defeated Susan Routson of Umatilla, and Maddie Belshe defeated Melanie Mejia of Riverside. In semis Marnie Fitzsimmons defeated defeated Melanie Belshe and Joy Brammer defeated Maddie Belshe. Joy Brammer then defeated Marnie Fitzsimmons to take the championship.

Fifteen teams competed in the women's doubles part of the invitational. Umatilla did well placing two teams, Muranda Cranston/Anali Rubio and BreAnna Watson/Diana Manriquez in the semifinals. Watson/Manriquez then played Krista Persho/Chole Van Gilder of Sherman County in the final with Persho/Van Gilder winning the tournament.
