UHS VIkings Basketball to STATE!!!!

UMATILLA — The Umatilla Vikings punched their ticket to the Class 3A final state bracket in Coos Bay next week by pummeling Horizon Christian 60-33 in girls’ playoff basketball on Saturday in The Pit.

Umatilla coach Scott Bow said his team put on its best performance of the season.

The Vikings had three players score in double digits, led by Naomi Castanon with 19, followed by Catherine Routson and Kassie Kennedy with 15 each. Castanon also had 11 rebounds.

Madeleine Clark led Horizon Christian with 11 points.

Umatilla’s first-round opponent at the state tournament will be Clatskanie. They’ll play at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
